West Burton is a pretty village centred around a green, surrounded by stunning scenery with footpaths from the village leading to open fields and the wide open countryside, or cycle the country lanes amidst the natural beauty of this unspoilt corner of Yorkshire, an ideal location from which to walk, tour or cycle in idyllic Wensleydale. The village has a good local butcher, village shop and tearoom and a traditional inn serving local ales and food.

Visit the traditional market towns of Leyburn and Hawes, both within 10 miles. Here you will find independent shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants. Historic Jervaulx Abbey is within 10 miles and the Forbidden Corner, a quirky folly garden is under 5 miles and well worth a visit.
