Grassington is a popular Wharfedale village, just under 10 miles north of Skipton and 8 miles north-east of Bolton Abbey in the Southern Yorkshire Dales National Park. Grassington lies next to the River Wharfe and Linton Waterfalls, which offer plenty of opportunities for scenic walks and fishing. Fly fishing is particularly popular and fishing permits can be purchased from the Grassington Post Office.
There are plenty of walks to suit all choices, including over 80 miles of footpaths on the Bolton Abbey Estate. Find pony trekking at Kilnsey and rock climbing at Kilnsey Crag and Malham Cove. Wharfedale has become well known with cyclists after featuring on the 2014 Tour de Yorkshire Route with the Yorkshire Dales Cycleway passing close to Grassington.
