Located on the ground floor of this stunning development, a Grade II listed former merchants house, enter through the archway and step into a spacious and beautifully appointed apartment for two. Owner Diane, is an interior designer and you can see her attention to detail throughout, underfloor heating, soft linens, plush fabrics and carefully chosen furniture all make for a relaxing stay, the balcony off the bedroom is the perfect spot for morning coffee or a sundowner watching the world go by!

The entrance hall leads to the open plan living space, which is light and spacious with comfy sofas, for relaxing and a smart T.V. The kitchen is open to the living space, well laid out and equipped with everything you need, perfect for chatting while brewing up the morning coffee.

Off the hallway is a handy utility room with washer/dryer and a cloakroom.

Balcony Suite

Soft carpet underfoot, with a natural colour palette of luxuriously soft linens and a dreamy bed, perfect for a restful night.

Balcony & Courtyard Garden

From the bedroom there is a lovely balcony with table and chairs, the perfect spot for morning coffee or to enjoy a sundowner while you watch the world go by!

There is also a shared, pretty courtyard garden with seating for your enjoyment, it is just through the archway as you enter Chiltern Place.

THE LOCAL AREA

Malton is the quintessential Yorkshire market town, traditional in the best sense and yet, with its new foodie scene, chic boutiques & festivals it’s also very modern and up to date. Located on the north of the River Derwent on the historic boundary between the North and East Ridings of Yorkshire.

The town is known as a top foodie destination with its famous food festival, monthly food market, Malton Cookery School, traditional food shops and ‘Made in Malton’ artisan producers. It was Antonio Carluccio who first called the town, “Yorkshire’s Food Capital!”. It also has a large number of excellent independent shops.

As well as Malton’s traditional weekly market every Saturday, there’s an exciting range of food-related events in the town, including the Malton Monthly Food Market (second Saturday of each month) – with cooking demos and live music – an annual Malton Food Lovers’ Festival (in May) and even a cookery school where you can dine in style at the ‘Chef’s Table’. You get also go behind the scenes of the artisan producers on one of the very popular Malton Food Tours.

Relive the dramatic experiences of life during World War II, visit nearby Eden Camp, a former Prisoner-of-War Camp turned modern history museum, other areas to visit include the famous North Yorkshire Coast, Castle Howard in the Howardian Hills AONB, and of course the North York Moors.

Christmas 2024

My wife & I had a wonderful Christmas week’s stay at number 2 Chiltern place,  this really was a luxury boutique apartment, a lovely modern very comfy and spotlessly clean apartment right in the lovely town of Malton.
It was nice to have two large televisions for once, one in the lounge & one on the bedroom wall with an ensuite large walk in shower Villeroy & Boch bathroom furniture.   A lovely small patio with a table & chairs off the bedroom overlooking the town centre but private.

A very secure building with an electric gate to enter which leads down to a communal patio garden, Diane the owner was extremally helpful letting us know that the apartment was ready earlier in case we wanted to enter before the 4 pm which we did and a lovely unexpected surprise on arrival was the apartment front door was decked out with a door wreath & Christmas trees either side with lights a lovely Christmas tree in the lounge & hallway so welcoming.

The town of Malton has lots of individual shop’s bar’s deli’s restaurant’s & a train station which we used to visit Scarborough,

Would I stay here again, YES IN A HEARTBEAT.

We were very impressed with 2 Chiltern Place and would be happy to stay there again.  It was spotlessly clean with lots of nice touches and beautifully decorated for Christmas.
We know the area very well and would highly recommend the town and the surrounding countryside for a relaxing break.
