Fine Dining Restaurants Yorkshire

31st October 2024

Yorkshire is renowned for its culinary offerings, from traditional homemade goods to a full-blown, no-expense-spared Michelin-star dining experience. Luckily, Yorkshire also offers everything in between with many restaurants being awarded (and deservedly so!) recognition by the prestigious Michelin Guide. What’s even better is that many of Beautiful Escape’s sensational properties are located within convenient driving distance to plenty of these noteworthy establishments.

Prashad | Drighlington, West Yorkshire

Prashad has been included in the Michelin Guide under the Bib Gourmand Category. This recognises “friendly establishments that serve good food at moderate prices”. This Drighlington restaurant has brought the unique flavours of Gujarat to Yorkshire since 2012 – although it was originally founded in Bradford in 1992 by the Patels, it has been carried on by younger generations ever since.

This award-winning, family-run establishment is renowned for its authenticity and originality while boasting an extensive À La Carte menu filled with traditional, vegetarian, Northwest Indian cuisine with a modern, innovative twist. Prashad also offers a set menu, takeaway, and seven-course tasting menu. Much importance is placed on sustainability and locally sourced ingredients are used where possible to support local producers and boost the environmentally friendliness of the restaurant.

Skosh | City of York

Another Yorkshire eatery to be given the honour of a Michelin Bib Gourmand award is the exquisite Skosh restaurant found just beyond the historic ‘Micklegate Bar’. Housed in a refurbished Grade II listed building, this ‘open concept kitchen’ affords diners a unique and informal culinary experience while serving high-quality British cuisine with evident global influences.

Skosh’s menu features a host of small plates and snacks to be enjoyed alongside any number of options from the in-depth wine list (all of which are available by the glass), the selection of local and international craft beers, or seasonal cocktails. The restaurant is open from Wednesday to Saturday with an ever-changing and has recently been expanded to enhance the experience and atmosphere while retaining Skosh’s signature style.

Craig Rogan at The Collective | Leeds, West Yorkshire

The Michelin Plate award was introduced in 2018 and has since been awarded to an array of excellent restaurants as recognition for their high quality – including Craig Rogan at The Collective. In the heart of Leeds, ‘The Collection’ is a combination of an interior design store, restaurant and bar as part of a unique concept by Craig Rogan, the executive head chef.

The restaurant is open all day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for customers to enjoy exceptional food on high-quality, stylish furniture which is available to buy. There are lunch and dinner menus made up of small plates as well as a seasonal tasting menu comprised of modern British gastronomy.

Thomas Carr at The Coast | Scarborough, North Yorkshire

Opened in 2023 by Michelin-starred chef, Thomas Carr at The Coast has been recognised by Michelin for its interesting, high-quality menu. The ingredients are sourced locally with the speciality being fresh fish and seafood from the North Sea and the Yorkshire Coast.

There are five-course lunch and evening tasting menu options as well as a seven-course evening tasting menu. With vegetarian options and optional wine flights available, there is definitely something for everyone from Tuesday to Sunday. Hearth | Hull, East Yorkshire

Hearth Restaurant and Bakery is not just another addition to the list of Michelin Plate establishments in Yorkshire. It can be found in the heart of Hull, in the old town’s Trinity Square, and is spread over two floors – the lower level is a designated bar and bakery area while the award-winning cuisine of Hearth Restaurant can be found on the upper level.

The restaurant’s head chef and head baker have years of experience training and working in 1- and 2-Michelin-starred restaurants and have used their expertise to produce the mouth-watering offerings of Hearth. Local and seasonal ingredients are paramount in addition to the open kitchen’s main feature – the restaurant’s signature, custom hearth.

Pignut | Helmsley, North Yorkshire

The last addition to the list is the intimate culinary experience provided by the cosy Pignut Restaurant in Helmsley. With only 6 tables in the whole restaurant, a handmade gastronomic journey can be enjoyed with a homely atmosphere and simplistic décor.

Local produce is at the heart of the mission at Pignut to connect with the surrounding area and support the small-scale farmers of the region. Wine pairing is taken seriously here, and each option has been carefully selected to enhance your journey through the 4- and 8-course tasting menu while innovative cocktails are also on offer. The Pignut menu has been praised for its imagination by the Michelin Guide and the attentive service is the cherry on top.
