The Wishing Well – Richmond, Yorkshire Dales
The Wishing Well is a pretty little cottage just for two on Millgate, in the Georgian town of Richmond, North Yorkshire. Every house on this street is different, built at different times, yet all overlook the steep bank that eventually winds down to the River Swale. Known as the gateway to the Dales, Richmond is the perfect location for exploring all that this beautiful part of Yorkshire has to offer.
The cottage has been lovingly restored by owners Maria & Jeff and combines original architectural features with contemporary additions, creating a comfortable, unique property with light, airy rooms, historic grandeur, and everything you need for a romantic trip away. As soon as you walk in, you’ll find yourself standing on the original stone flagstone floors, one of the many remnants of the cottage’s heritage. In this space, the wood-burning stove provides warmth and immediate atmosphere, and the ultra-comfortable sofa is the perfect place from which to watch your favourite film on the Smart TV.
As the name suggests, it really does have it’s very own Well, it is partially exposed in the kitchen and makes an interesting talking point. Outside there is a lovely little terrace which offers a peep to nearby Richmond Castle.
There is a secure garage suitable for a small car, cycles, kayaks, etc.
